Working on a new little series, where I take a visual effect from a music video or movie scene, and show you how to do it (or cheat it). Inspired by the great videos at Video Copilot, I seek to expand on the concept. My walkthroughs will be a little less step by step, though. I want to teach people how to approach the effect and composite it with multiple possible programs. That being said..... I am extremely broke and will probably end up doing most of my compositing in After Effects.
Like all VFX, there is more than one way to create the desired result. I will go into each episode without prior information on how the effect was done. I also encourage anybody reading the blog or watching the videos to post links of their work to me. Hell, I bet a lot of y'all out there will make my videos look like high school projects.
As far as the first couple of episodes, I want to start out simple. I was thinking about how to reproduce the "bobble head" look in the Chiddy Bang vid. Also, I want to talk about making anamorphic lens flares in post. If anyone has any request, please post a reply. If I ain't too hard, I might do it. Well I'm headed back to work, so I'll talk to y'all later.
